Academic Coaches offer learning strategies that can help students improve overall academic skills. The scope of academic coaching is holistic and personalized.
The TAEC offers both peer and professional academic coaching. What's the difference?
Peer Academic Coaches are current undergraduate UO students. They work in small group settings and specialize in general academic skills such as note-taking, time management, and exam preparation.
Peer Academic Coaches facilitate Momentum Sessions, our peer accountability groups, and provide drop-in one-on-one coaching.

Drop-in with a Peer Academic Coaches if you’re looking for quick one-on-one support from someone with the student perspective. Fall 2025 drop in availability coming soon.
Professional Academic Coaches are full-time staff in the TAEC. Our Professional Academic Coaches hold advanced degrees and bring a diversity of professional, academic, and personal experience to the TAEC. As professional staff, they have expertise in educational psychology, academic resilience, and the ins and outs of UO as an institution.
